Growth of the industry in Eswatini

Sunday Observer - - SCENE -

has grown so much in the country in a short period of time. Looking back to how the entertainment industry was there is a big change.

Eswatini has grown as a country itself so much that today we have various places to go for entertainment purposes. Our artists are able to do gigs all over the country because they now know there are people out there who root for them. Back then it was so difficult to even label yourself as an artist because you knew very well no one would take you seriously. The country did not give the love and support that the artists needed.

They always looked for their favourite artists outside the country instead of believing in their own, which made them lose their self-esteem.

Today our own artists are putting our country on the map. They are making us proud and where they come from .Not just because it is their country but because of the support and love showed by their people is overwhelming and giving them hope and that the future is about to be bright.

We are now talking about awards something that was never there before .They are getting gongs, showing that their hard work pays off.

It gives them courage to go out there work hard and it shows that they are not alone in this. The whole country is with them through all the storms they go through to finally being where they are today.

Eswatini has places to go watch these artists which were not there before. These places are safe and reliable such that we now have people from out of the country coming here to watch our own perform at this sports. Places like Solani’s Shisanyama, Esibayeni Lodge, Emfuleni Lifestyle and more.

Today we see the beauty of entertainment through our artists who decided to come out and believed in their talent to share it with the country. Also what makes the industry grow is that the ministry believes in the talents of these artists and they are willing to help and make sure the industry continues to grow.

The Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulungu at the SWAMA Awards said “The ministry is excited and proud that the industry in Eswatini has grown from strength to strength over the past years, As evidence by the awards which have attracted the interest of the regional and international media. As a ministry we will ensure that the music and art industry continues to achieve consistent growth”. He added that they are inspired by this year’s awards theme ‘Emvembili’, which should motivate all stakeholders in music and arts to build on strong foundations built in the past in order to take the industry to even greater heights in future.
