Swallows fans cry foul over Ngwerume exit
SOCCER - A number of disappointed Mbabane Swallows fans yesterday took to the social media to vent their anger and dissatisfaction after Zimbabwean star player Alois Ngwerume was shown the exit door.
The former Moroka Swallows player has already been issued with his clearance and is already out of the country, leaving behind his fellow countrymen in goalkeepers Jim Knowledge and Nicho Francis.
The fans felt it was a bad move by the club to release the player, whom was never even given a chance to prove himself.
They argue that such untimely and miscalculated decisions were a let down to the team.
Ngwerume joined Swallows after the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup triumph and was touted as the perfect replacement for then want away midfielder Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, who had spent the better part of preseason training with army side, Young Buffaloes. Ndlovu, however, returned to his beloved Swallows after the botched move to the army team. The move relegated Ngwerume to the bench. His departure was confirmed by Swallows acting Chief Executive Officer Sibusiso, who said they had to take the decision for the betterment of the club.
He said the team was on the verge of signing a foreign anchorman and this was a carefully thought out decision.
This is what they said:
Swallows release Ngwerume, mmmm is it a good or bad decision?? im just asking myself what do you think fellow
EXIT: Alois Ngwerume.
