MYSTERY SURROUNDS DEATH OF MURDERED FUNDUKUWELA PUPIL
SLAIN Fundukuwela High School Form Two pupil Temancele Mavuso is believed to have been dumped inside her bedroom by the murderers who then locked body and disappeared with the keys.
Temancele Mavuso (17) was on Monday morning found dead at her parental home in Nkomazi area.
Her corpse was found in her bed by her stepmother.
Family members said they believed that the murder happened elsewhere as nobody at the homestead heard anything during the night.
Before the murder, the deceased would normally share her bedroom with two of her younger female siblings.
Mavuso’s body was discovered facedown next to an exposed weevil tablet and a cup of untouched drinking water.
She had stabbed multiple wounds on her head, neck and chest. A metal rod was also found in the bedroom which made the family assume that it was the one used to end the life of the deceased.
“There are usually six family members living at the homestead. The deceased shared her bedroom with two younger siblings, but on this particular night, she was alone. Blankets for her siblings were washed, so the two younger children slept next door with their mother,” they said.
The family members said they suspected that the deceased was called outside the homestead by her killers.
They added that on Monday, her stepmother had to break down the locked door with the help of a male neighbour only to find the body of the deceased stone cold. “Until now the bedroom keys are still missing,” they added.
Meanwhile, Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Khulani Mamba said police were still investigating the matter. On that note, the deceased’s father Mandla Mavuso said he was not yet ready to comment on the matter.
