‘Lubombo Mall to boost country’s economy, tourism’
THE ministry of commerce, industry and trade has commended the joint effort by local businesspeople who came together and mobilised funds to construct a multi-million shopping mall in Siteki.
Chief Commercial Officer Magenius Hlophe said such a development project will not only benefit the co-owners, but the country in general.
Noted The mall, whose second phase will be completed early next year, is strategically situated about 20 km from Mhlumeni Border Gate. Hlophe noted that the shopping mall is situated at the first local town from neighbouring Mozambique, something which would promote tourism in the country.
Hlophe said tourists who use the Mhlumeni exit point would now have more reasons to make a stop in Siteki and do their shopping. This will contribute to the economic growth of the country.
Meanwhile, KaLanga Acting Chief Rudolf Maziya thanked all the relevant structures which contributed to the success of the project. Maziya umphakatsi said the was happy to note several development projects taking place under the chiefdom.
The construction of the mall also comes shortly after a stadium which is being built at KaLanga. The stadium is near completion.
