Where’s the Revolution?

-

One track to describe your life: Survivor by Destiny’s Child. I listen to that song knowing I survived all the crazy bullshit, and I’m here.

One song you wish you had written: Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson. It’s a big song. The melody is great, I really love this song.

One track every woman should have on a playlist: Respect by Aretha

Franklin.

I sang this song in my first choir performance when I was 12. There was a girl in my choir class that would always try and compete with me. It was the weirdest thing. The choir teacher said only one person could sing the song. So, I belted it, and that other girl sang it in falsetto. I got to sing the song in the end, because I put so much emotion into it. That other girl was the mean girl, and she hated me for no reason. She would give me eye rolls and everything at choir practice. But singing that was song was so much fun.

One song that gets Ava and her family singing when they get together:

We all love Celine Dion. When she hits those notes we die.

One person to find in LA if you are an aspiring artist:

Find your rock. You need one person in LA who you can talk to, who is in the same industry as you, and who can guide you. I was very lucky to have Cirkut, my producer. He is the one I bounce ideas off of. He is there for me in a very positive way.
