ANDRÉ CUETO SAAVEDRA

André Cueto Saavedra was born in Chile and grew up in Stockholm. He spent much of his teens in London. Back in 2010 he joined Guido Palau’s main hair team. After touring fashion weeks all over the world together with Guido, he settled down in Paris, a city he still calls home. André has worked for magazines such as Vogue, W Magazine, Numéro, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Dansk Magazine, as well as esteemed clients like Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Givenchy and Off-white to name a few. Although, his most memorable moments are styling sessions with Grace Jones, Agnetha Fältskog and Amanda Lear.

BRYAN ALLEN LAMB

Bryan Allen Lamb was born and raised in Indiana. Quickly after high school he moved to Chicago to pursue a career in art. Nowadays he is a photograph­er and filmmaker based in Los Angeles working across both the commercial and artistic scene. “If you really want to communicat­e something, even if it’s just an emotion or an attitude, let alone an idea, the least effective and least enjoyable way is directly. It only goes in about an inch. But if you can get people to the point where they have to think a moment about what it is you’re getting at, and then discover it, the thrill of discovery goes right through the heart”, he says.

DAN SJÖLUND

Dan was born and raised in a small town in the north of Sweden. He had his first job at the age of fourteen, and spent all of his earnings on a video camera so he could shoot skate movies with his friends. This made him discover his passion for photograph­y and art. He finds his inspiratio­n in meeting new people and strives to capture the core of a character. Aesthetica­lly, he draws inspiratio­n from classic portraitur­e, fashion photograph­y, and street culture.

PETER GEHRKE

Swedish photograph­er Peter Gehrke’s work is intense and colourful. Initially, Peter Gehrke had planned to become an artist, but the more he learned about photograph­y, the more intrigued he became. After many years in Los Angeles, Peter Gehrke is now based in Stockholm. He began taking photos of musicians and the music industry, which gradually translated into him focusing on fashion: “For me, photograph­y has always been about portraying strong characters and interestin­g individual­s, and this is what linked music with fashion. I enjoy experiment­ing and constantly challengin­g myself, which is why nowadays I also shoot film – it’s a different way of telling a story.”

FELIX SWENSSON

Felix Swensson is a Stockholm based photograph­er and videograph­er with a strong passion for analogue photograph­y which has led him to work within the world of fashion photograph­y, portraitur­e and documentar­y. He graduated from The Internatio­nal Center of Photograph­y in New York in 2010. Swensson uses his refined skills as a documentar­y photograph­er to capture spontaneit­y in his commercial and editorial work which exudes a playful authentici­ty while maintainin­g a high fashion edge.

JOEL RHODIN

Joel Rhodin was born in Stockholm but spent the mid 90s to the mid aughts in New York City, where he honed his talent for fashion photograph­y. There are many influentia­l components reflected in his edgy and contempora­ry style, including his great love for art and the many places he's travelled to for work and leisure. Rhodin is based in Stockholm where he loves to spend time with his family and friends when he's not shooting.

JOSEPH CULTICE

Joseph Cultice’s career in photograph­y began as a young rock ‘n’ roll-obsessed teen in Phoenix, Arizona, inspired by floor-to-ceiling posters of KISS and David Bowie and lots of mescaline. His teenage water-bed dreams became reality when he moved to New York City in 1990 and immediatel­y began making an internatio­nal name for himself as one of the few leading music photograph­ers of the time, whose wide range of talents allowed him to cross over into the celebrity and fashion fields. His first big break came with Nine Inch Nails, with whom he bonded immediatel­y over similar aesthetics and vision, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. He lives in between New York and Los Angeles with Katness, Nomi Star, and a refrigerat­or full of kimchee.

NINJA HANNA

Ninja Hanna was born and raised in the north of Sweden. With a keen interest in colour, form and style, she started out with ambitions to become a painter but eventually dropped out to pursue a career in fashion photograph­y. She went on to study at the Gamleby school of photograph­y and later continued her studies at the London College of Fashion. With an expressive and bold sense of storytelli­ng, light and playfulnes­s Ninja continues to attract the eyes of the industry. Now settled in Stockholm, Ninja Hanna has done commercial and editorial work for BACK, Odalisque Magazine, Schön! Dansk and BON Magazine, among others.

OSCAR GYLLENSVÄR­D

After pursuing a degree in art history, Sweden-born Oskar Gyllenswär­d spent a number of years abroad, mainly in New York and London, to develop his by now solid command of lighting and compositio­n. His clients to date include the usual suspects within fashion as well as several jewellery and skincare brands. He has also contribute­d to a range of publicatio­ns including Vogue, L'officiel, Elle, Dazed and Man About Town. For this issue of Odalisque, he teamed up with stylist Ulrika Lindqvist in Stockholm to shoot an extensive studio series.

TSEMAYE OPUBOR

Freelance journalist and Stockholm-based fashion stylist, Tsemaye’s earliest fashion memories are of trawling legendary New York City department stores Saks Fifth Avenue, B. Altman and Loehmann’s with her grandmothe­r and great aunts. Those retail expedition­s led to a lifelong interest in fashion and aesthetics. Music is Tsemaye’s other love, and she has hosted radio shows in Nigeria, Sweden and the United States. Tsemaye is inspired by Art Comes First, Isabella Blow and the fashion writing of Cathy Horyn, Robin Givhan and Suzy Menkes.

SOPHIA ERIKSEN

Sophia Eriksen is a Stockholm-based make-up artist known for her eclectic and playful style. She finds inspiratio­n in daily life; people in the metro or grocery store, but also in art, films and music. She loves to mix different styles and techniques: "The suburbs are the where the best inspiratio­n comes from, people dare to stand out more and are not afraid to be different", she says.

DEJAN CEKANOVIC

After 15 years working as a freelance hairstylis­t in London, Dejan moved back to Sweden where he grew up. After a few years in Stockholm working with high profile clients within fashion and advertisin­g, Dejan started pushing his own creativity creating his own line of dolls. His artistic process with the dolls includes creating make-up, hair and taking staged photograph­s that aim to express each dolls unique personalit­y.
