New supermarket, complete with bar and bistro

ICA Kvantum Södermalm, a 2,300 square metre supermarket and bistro will open at Magnus Ladulåsgatan 40 on October 14. This new grocery store is the first ICA Kvantum on Södermalm and has twice the amount of space as the average inner city store. In its bistro section they will serve food with seasonal raw produce, and aim to minimize and recycle their food waste, as well as offering carefully-chosen beers and wines.

“What we serve will, to as great a degree as possible, come from our grocery store, it’s a step towards reducing food waste. We want to make it easy for the people of Södermalm to make the right call and to inspire more sustainable choices,” Thomas Bergman at ICA Kvantum Södermalm says.

Apart from a zero-waste vision, ICA Kvantum Södermalm also has the ambition to offer the largest organic and locally-produced supply of food in Stockholm. And in another step in the sustainable direction, they have recruited Joakim Mets, previously the store manager for the former organic grocery store Paradiset.
