Black and gold
British-Liberian conceptual artist Lina Iris Viktor created an evocative series of works called Dark Continent between 2016 and 2019. And from that, 50 works have been handpicked for a thought-provoking exhibition that is currently on display at Fotografiska.
The black and gold based art in the Dark Testament exhibition are intricate works infused with the complex cultural histories of the global African diaspora. They constitute a bold reclamation of historical and transcultural reimagining, designed to engage viewers and offer a space for reflection. Pretty much as all successful art is designed to do.
Dark Testament, on display at Fotografiska until January.
