Our knowledge becomes outdated at a relatively fast rate, particularly when it is highly specialized. Only about half of the general material taught at school remains relevant after 20 years, while half of highly specific IT knowledge is already obsolete after two years. These are the results of a study conducted by J. Braun (1996) – a study which is probably already outdated itself.
