BAADA ya kujifunza maana na matumizi ya vitenzi visaidizi vya modal (modal auxiliary verbs), leo tunaanza somo jipya linalohusu ‘Question Tags’ au ‘Tag Questions.’

‘Question tags’ ni nini? ‘Question tags’ ni vijiswali vidogo ambavyo huongezwa kwenye kauli kuu (main statement). ‘Question tags’ hutumika kwenye lugha ya mazungumzo yasiyo rasmi kama inavyooneshwa hapa chini:Dialogue 1 (A anamtaka B athibitishe ya kwamba anapenda kusoma gazeti la Mtanzania kila siku) A: You read the Mtanzania newspaper every day, don’t you? B: Yes, I buy it every morning. Maelezo: Katika mazungumzo hapo juu A anamwambia B:You read the Mtanzania newspaper everyday. (Wewe husoma gazeti la Mtanzania kila siku) Kisha anatumia ‘question tag’ ili kupata uthibitisho: don’t you? ‘Don’t you’ ni ‘question tag.’ Dialogue 2 (Marafiki wawili C na D wanazungumzia mipango yao ya mwisho wa wiki.) C: You haven’t plans for this weekend, have you? D: No, I don’t have any plans. C: Well, perhaps we can visit our parents. D: Sure, it sounds great! Ongeza Msamiati Polite -enye adabu, -enye upole Library maktaba Attend hudhuria Kanuni za msingi za kuunda ‘Question tags’ • Iwapo kauli kuu ni ya kukubali (positive/affirmative statement)’ question tag’ iwe ya kukanusha(negative question tag). Mfano:• He’s a teacher, isn’t he? • Taifa stars play well, don’t they? • John attended the party, didn’t he? • Amina can drive a car, can’t she? • Raya will be here soon, won’t she? • Iwapo kauli kuu ni ya kukanusha (negative statement), ‘question tag’ iwe ni ya kukubali (positive/ affirmative question tag). mfano: • He isn’t a teacher, is he? • George has bought a house, hasn’t he? • John didn’t attend the party, did he? • Amina can’t drive a car, can she? • Raya won’t be here soon, will she? • Kama kauli kuu inaanza na; let’s , ‘question tag’ yake ni; shall we?
