Another set-top box IPTV service, 3BB offers HD channels and video-on-demand.

CHANNELS

The service offers 120 channels in both standard and high definition (720p).

REQUIREMENTS

Limited to BB broadband customers with at 6Mb or 9Mb connection speed.

COST

First month is 2,700 baht, then 790 baht a month for 6Mb speed or 1,090 baht for 9Mb speed for 11 months. Set top box costs 3,745 baht upfront. Installation is free. Minimum contract is one year. Movie Buffet is an additional 99 baht per month.

VERDICT

The good news is that is seems quite reliable, both in service and longevity, with good English-language customer support, and it offers HD too. The bad news is that it’s for a Thai audience, with most channels in Thai, and it requires a one year contract. It might be tempting for current BB customers, as it would only be a small extra monthly cost for some good access to movies. It’s currently the best option out of the legit Thai providers at the moment, but won’t replace a cable TV package.
