Red Bull heir still overseas, cops say

City police are dismissing rumours that fugitive Vorayudh Yoovidhaya has slipped back into Thailand after leaving the country last month.

The heir to the Red Bull energy drink fortune is wanted on an arrest warrant over last year’s hit-and-run incident which killed a police officer.

Pol Maj Gen Suebsak Phansura, chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Division 5, rejected a claim by Rak Thailand Party leader Chuvit Kamolvisit that Mr Vorayudh, 28, had returned to the country after watching Sunday’s F1 race in Singapore.

Mr Chuvit wrote on his Facebook page yesterday that a source from the Immigration Bureau had told him Mr Vorayudh had returned.

Pol Maj Gen Suebsak said investigators in charge of the hit-and-run case had affirmed Mr Vorayudh was still in Singapore.

Mr Vorayudh has failed to report to prosecutors to hear indictments against him. According to an immigration police source, he left the country on a private jet on Aug 28 and has not yet come back.
