Robbers target 3 banks, gold shop


Three banks and a gold shop were targeted by robbers in Bangkok, Samut Sakhon, and Surat Thani yesterday, police said.

The first incident happened about 9.45am when a man in his thirties wearing a crash helmet robbed a Government Savings Bank branch of about 800,000 baht in Surat Thani’s Ban Na Doem district.

At 11.30am, in Bangkok’s Bang Phlat district a robber entered a gold shop and fought with the shop owner’s daughter. He did not manage to steal any gold but he shot the woman in the right hand.

At 11.40am, police were alerted to a robbery at a branch of Kasikornba­nk on Prajadhipo­k Road in Bangkok’s Klong San district where police said a hooded man wearing a white crash helmet forced a female bank clerk to give him all the cash she had in a drawer.

The last robbery occurred at 12.40pm in Samut Sakhon’s Muang district. Two teens made off with about 1.3 million baht after robbing another Kasikornba­nk branch on Rama II Road.
