Mezzo-soprano Vitale to give debut recital
Swiss mezzo-soprano Caroline Vitale will give a Bangkok debut recital, accompanied by pianist Peter Baur, at Siam Ratchada Auditorium, on Feb 3 at 7.30pm.
Vitale was a member of the Zurich Opera House, where she appeared in several roles. She sang at the Trier Opera and has performed at the Mainz State Opera House in Germany. She was nominated in the “best singer” category by German opera journal Opernwelt.
Swiss pianist Baur studied specialisation courses for Lied accompaniment with Irwin Gage in Zurich and with Noël Lee in Savonlinna. He has accompanied many Lieder recitals and masterclasses at festivals in Switzerland, Austria and France.
Since 1999 he has been a professor of vocal ensemble, chamber music and Lied interpretation at the Hochschule Luzern – Musik, in Switzerland, where he also currently serves as the head of the department of classical music. Siam Ratchada Auditorium is on the ground floor of Fortune Town, Ratchadaphisek Road.
