PEDESTRIANS

How is City Hall attempting to make local roads safer for pedestrians?

-

A) By employing a guide to help them cross the road.

B) By making them wear neon colours so motorists can better see them.

C) By installing larger pedestrian crossing lights.

D) By painting zigzag road markings ahead of pedestrian crossings. The Bangkok Post reports that these twisting patterns have been put in place for trial use on Dinso Road, Asok Montri Road, and streets around the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration office, where they are painted 15 metres before each zebra crossing. The theory is that zigzag markings are a “traffic calming” device, as it can make motorists feel that a street is becoming narrower and alert them to slow down. Well, we’ve seen all kinds of vehicles attempt to brave tiny lanes so let’s see how effective this will be.
