Therapeutic child’s play in Chiang Mai
Anthroposophical art therapists Anupan Pluckpankhajee and Apisiri Charancha-vanaphet are offering a course aimed at enabling parents to better teach and inspire their children. Entitled “Painting With Children”, the course will be held at 7 Arts Inner Place in Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai, from March 13-15.
The course is also designed for teachers to learn how to incorporate art into their curriculums. The course is based on the theories of Brunhild Muller, an art therapy expert and author of Painting With Children, which offers ideas that encourage self-expression through watercolour.
The course will focus on a holistic knowledge of art, medication, therapy, education and the understanding of therapeutic art forms.
Anthroposophy is a spiritual philosophy introduced by Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner in the early 1900s. Anthroposophical art therapy incorporates the use of the “Seven Arts” — architecture, sculpture, painting, music, language, eurhythmics and social art — to harmonise an unbalanced person.
Modules in the course include Goethe’s Colour Theory, which is about the nature of colours and how they are perceived by humans, Plants Watercolour and Therapeutic Storytelling.
The registration fee is 7,000 baht (inclusive of art equipment, meals, round-trip transfer from Chiang Mai International Airport, a two-night stay at Aurora Resort and transportation from the Studio to Aurora Resort).
