The history of SVOA can be traced back to its establishment in 1982 as a modern business firm to operate computer businesses and promote information technology (IT) systems in Thailand in line with the government’s policy to increase IT literacy among Thai people to meet international standards. SVOA PCL provides integrated IT products and services. Recognised as an expert in IT industry, the company pioneered many IT programme developments and delivered integrated solutions for various customer segments. SVOA was one of the first to develop Thai language software programmes and Thai script for personal computers and printer software. The company initiated various programmes to make computers friendlier than ever for Thai users, resulting in widespread computer usage from large enterprises to different government agencies. It was SVOA who brought the first ATM system and machines into the country’s banking realm. SVOA installed the ATM network that created the phenomenon known as “JUST IN TIME CASH”. This phenomenon expanded banking services and eliminated the boundaries associated with handling money. As people’s lifestyles improved dramatically with rapidly change, SVOA has always introduced new business models to serve the changing needs in the IT market. Besides unleashing business potential of the commercial sector by providing IT equipment and systems integration, IT products became available to all consumers with the new business concept, IT City. SVOA PCL established IT City as a retail chain to provide all IT-related products to mass consumers As for SVOA distribution business unit, we have been expanding network of sales and services to every geographical area in the country to increase our market share. Strategically, customers can conveniently purchase computer and IT products; receive IT repair and maintenance services in any location throughout the country. With one wholly-owned subsidiary and two associates, SVOA divided its business into five Strategic Business Units, which include IT Distribution Strategic Business Unit (ITDSBU), IT Project Strategic Business Unit (ITPSBU), Computer Systems Integration and Total IT Solution Provider (DATAONE), Financial Product Group (LEASE IT), and IT Superstores (IT CITY). In addition, IT CITY, which is listed in The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), has acquired a number of shares in SPVI, an authorised Apple reseller. SVOA gives each Strategic Business Unit autonomy for efficient management which allows for convenience, speed, and quality service for the greatest benefits of the customers. To ride the country’s Digital Economy wave, SVOA has worked with numerous government agencies to realise e-government.
