Become a slam dunk star with Jr NBA
Jr NBA, the NBA’s global youth development programme that promotes basketball and an active lifestyle among children, has returned to Thailand to reach more than 3,000 children for the second year.
This is an opportunity for kids to learn the fundamentals of basketball and of the importance of the Jr NBA core values of STAR — sportsmanship, teamwork, a positive attitude and respect.
The “Jr NBA Thailand 2015 presented by Foremost” programme tipped off with a coach clinic and an open clinic for kids at Nist International School last weekend. This year’s schedule includes additional school clinics leading up to the selection camp on July 11-12 where the top 40 boys and top 24 girls, between the ages of 10-14 will be chosen following a series of skills and character assessments to participate in the Jr NBA National Training Camp in Bangkok from July 17-19.
The national training camp, which will once again be attended by an NBA legend or player and feature NBA Cares community outreach, will include a three-day intensive training schedule and culminate with the selection of 10 boys and four girls who will be named “2015 Jr NBA Thailand All-Stars”.
These standout campers will embark on a unique, overseas NBA experience together with fellow Jr NBA All-Stars from all over Southeast Asia later in the year.
The programme is open to players between the ages of five and 14, free of charge. Players between the ages of 10-14 will be eligible for top selection during the selection camp and national training camp.
