Bellyqueen, one of the top dance troupes in New York, will bring dances from the Middle East to audiences during the Journey Along The Silk Road performance at Petralai Management Theatre, on July 18 at 2pm and 7pm.

Held in collaboration with Bangkok’s Rumpuree dance studio, the multicultural performance follows the story of a princess who, while in search of three magical ingredients to save her dying mother, takes the audience on a journey through exotic lands to witness dances from Egypt, Turkey, China and India.

The show, performed in New York, Taiwan, Montreal, Vermont and Massachusetts since 2009, will bring six talented artists from New York to collaborate with 25 top dancers from Japan, Columbia, the US, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Finland, Australia and Thailand.

Founded in 1998, Bellyqueen’s artists come from a wide range of nationalities and dance backgrounds. By fusing their individual influences, the internationally acclaimed dance company creates exciting performances that utilise traditional elements as a base for modern theatrical performance art that inspires audiences of all backgrounds, genders and ages.

Petralai Management Theatre is located at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Phaya Thai Road. Tickets cost 1,000 baht (with 20% discount if purchased before July 10).
