Picturing the climate change fight
Alliance Française’s Gallery is holding “60 Solutions Against Climate Change”, a photo exhibition featuring 21 images by French photographer/journalist/environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand, from Nov 30 to Dec 13.
The photos are from his famous series “Earth From Above”, which presents concrete initiatives in four sectors — cities, agriculture, energy transition and climate change adaptation.
The exhibition is a collaboration with Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the Good-Planet Foundation, which are using images to highlight innovative and effective solutions combining the fight against climate change and economic development in AFD’s 71 agencies worldwide.
In line with its climate strategy, AFD uses a wide range of financial tools (investment loans, budget support, guarantees, equity or grant investments and technical assistance) to finance positive and realistic solutions to combat climate change.
It benefits from and mobilises resources from European and international mandates.
Among the initiatives presented in this exhibition, 15 are supported by AFD and illustrate the wide range of financing in all the countries where AFD operates.
In Thailand, AFD takes concrete action for development and the fight against climate change, by supporting projects which have a positive impact on the climate.
Alliance Française is on Witthayu Road and its gallery opens from 8.30pm-7pm on weekdays and 8.30am-4.30pm on weekends.
There is no admission fee. Email culture@afthailande.org or call 02-670-4231.
