We Fitness Society, a subsidiary of SET-listed Major Cineplex Plc, has teamed up with Index Living Mall Co, a leading furniture store chain, to boost their customer base and increase brand awareness.

Both sides announced the collaboration yesterday under the “We Fitness Society presented by Index Living Mall” campaign.

The collaboration began with We Fitness Society at Major Cineplex Pinklao being refurbished with Index Living Mall’s furniture to make the atmosphere at the fitness club feel like a home.

The highlight is the installation of a swimming pool on the top of the club for members.

A similar collaboration will be seen at five We Fitness clubs, one of which will be at The Esplanade Ratchada. Each will require 5- million-baht investment, said Thanakrit Surakitbovorn, chief executive officer of We Fitness Society.

Both companies said they had a similar customer base, which mainly consists of generation Y who avidly follow health and lifestyle trends.

This prompted We Fitness to choose Index Living Mall as its partner to create brand loyalty and exchange customer databases for the highest benefit for both parties in the future.

At the same time, Index Living Mall had for some time been looking for business partners to develop its health products and services before reaching an agreement with We Fitness Society.

“We’re carrying f orward healthy trends, so we intend to collaborate with the renowned We Fitness to help improve brand awareness for both sides,” said Kridchanok Patamasatayasonthi, Index Living Mall Co’s managing director.

We Fitness Society has 12,000 active members and six branches throughout Bangkok — four at Major Cineplex branches in Ekamai, Pin Klao, Ratchayothin and The Esplanade Ratchada, and one each at VIE Hotel Bangkok and J-Avenue Thonglor.

Mr Thanakrit said at least two more fitness clubs would open next year to support increasing demand.

We Fitness Society posted revenue of 100 million baht last year and expects to generate 400 million baht this year.
