A conference for start-uppers

-

Start-ups are a growing trend in Thailand’s economy, especially among young graduates. To find out why, Guru catches up with Thaddeus Koh, co-founder of e27 and Echelon Thailand 2015, a large tech and start-up conference that runs until today (Nov 27), at Bitec.

Why are young people so attracted to start-ups?

There’s a sense of community and identity. The start-up ecosystem is highly diverse, with differing perspectives, and these differences are celebrated. You get to test the boundaries of what is impossible — and as such discover what is possible.

Why now?

The emergence of tech takes it to the next level. The start-up scene is not a recent development. There have been enterprising people everywhere, since the beginning of time. What has changed in recent years is the intersection of tech and entrepreneurship, and how much more accessible technology has become in order to empower almost anyone to amplify the impact of what they’re trying to achieve.

Is the conference open to newbies?

Yes, of course. Entrepreneurs are always learning, and you can learn a thing or two from anyone, including tapping into Echelon Thailand’s curated opportunities to meet the right people for personal and professional growth. Echelon Thailand 2015:Your Gateway to Tomorrow’s Mekong is hosted by e27, connecting Thailand’s start-up community with international speakers, mentors, investors and start-up communities across the Mekong region.Visit e27.co/echelon/thailand or email huiming@ e27.co.
