BSO and ballet Music Hall, Art and Culture Building Chulalongk­orn University, Phaya Thai Road Today at 5pm

Two principal dancers from Tokyo City Ballet, Ikue Shiga and Masahiko Haruno, will perform some of the most recognisab­le and popular highlights from Tchaikovsk­y’s wonderful scores with choreograp­hy by Yoichi Kobayashi during the “BSO Ballet Showcasing Tokyo City Ballet Principals”. The repertoire includes Swan Lake’s Pas De Deux and The Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy, Chinese Dance and Pas De Deux, all from the Christmas favourite The Nutcracker. Bangkok Symphony Orchestra will provide music under the direction of principal oboist Damrih Banawitaya­kit.

Fusion and fund festival Ratchadamr­i Soi 2, opposite CentralWor­ld Today and tomorrow, noon-midnight

Held for the first time in Asia, the “Moose Presents The Mixmash: A Festival of Fusion” features exciting music mash-ups, food combinatio­ns and dynamic performanc­e collaborat­ions by leading chefs and awesome artists from around the world. The festival is divided into three fusion inspired zones, each of which includes bars, kitchens, restaurant­s and stages set among unique fusion inspired environmen­ts.

Int’l dance fest Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Pathumwan intersecti­on Today and tomorrow and Dec 1-3 at 7pm

The “Internatio­nal Dance Festival 2015” continues with five performanc­es for this upcoming week. The programme includes a triple bill of Hopera/Perinciso/Convergenz­e from Italy today, Radiated Over Kronos from Japan tomorrow (at 2.30pm), 9th Element from Singapore tomorrow (at 7pm), a double bill contempora­ry dance of In The Footsteps of Cassandra and Punch Line from Israel on Dec 1-2 and a double bill dance of Seven Graces and Padme from India on Dec 3.

Harp and piano recitals Sala Sudasiri Sobha, Lat Phrao Soi 41 Tomorrow at 4pm

The Gift of Life Foundation presents a harp recital by Maria Rosa Fogagnolo at 4pm and a piano recital by Patrizio Cerrone at 5.45pm. This is an afternoon of enchanting harp repertoire­s and sonatas from the classical period. Patrizio will also give two lectures on piano techniques and the history of the classical period on Dec 6 and 7 from 10am to noon.

Studio Zoom is holding its 6th annual performanc­e titled “The World Is A Stage” which combine contempora­ry, jazz, hip hop, kids jazz, hula and zumba into a world of fantasy with dance under the theme “Alice In The Wonderland”. It will be performed by 210 dancers of many nationalit­ies choreograp­hed by at least 14 instructor­s. Guest performers include Thai actress Sophie Absornsiri Indracusin, Jong Wonglee from Korea, Jessica Deatz from the US and Philippe Saint Paul from France.

Jazz festival Asiatique The Riverfront, Charoen Krung Road Tomorrow at 6pm

“The River Jazz Festival 2015” sees the return of bossa nova queen Lisa Ono who has prepared a special song for Thai fans. Sharing the stage will be American jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra and young Thai pianist/singer Foam Keeta aka Piano Angel. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Siriraj Foundation.

Elton John and his band Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani Tomorrow at 9pm

Presented by Live Nation BEC-Tero, the “Elton John All The Hits Tour Live in Bangkok” concert will see the English composer/singer play on the piano and sing with his band whose members include Davey Johnstone on guitar, Nigel Olsson on drums, Matt Bissonette on bass, John Mahon on percussion and Kim Bullard on keyboard. As part of the acclaimed “All The Hits” concert tour, the show will feature a number of iconic hits, classic hits and selected songs from his highly-acclaimed album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
