Festive fun and Christmas celebratio­ns at The Okura Prestige Bangkok

The celebratio­ns for Christmas 2015 at The Okura Prestige Bangkok are full of festive fun, fine food, exciting entertainm­ent and visits by Santa Claus with gifts for the children. At Yamazato, the hotel’s award-winning signature Japanese restaurant, Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara has created an impressive range of new seasonal dishes presented in three special set menus available on 24 and 25 December 2015. The set lunch is outstandin­g value (Bt1,500++) and includes a starter course of crab with grilled Shiitake mushroom; oyster with grated radish, green vegetable and carrot in a soup; sashimi of tuna, yellowtail and surf clam; spicy grilled snow fish, and tempura shrimp.

The seven-course set dinner (Bt3,300++) including a special dish of spring roll with shrimp, citrus salsa with pepper and caviar. The Teppanyaki dinner, priced at Bt3,600++, begins with a spicy salmon salad and also includes king crab and scallops from Hokkaido with tender beef sirloin (200g).

Guests dining at Up & Above on Christmas Eve (24 December 2015) and Christmas Day (25 December 2015) are guaranteed to meet Santa Claus. Santa is visiting Up & Above on both days with gifts for the children. On 24 December 2015 Up & Above presents a festive buffet dinner, with live jazz and carol singers, priced at Bt2,500++ and Bt3,500++ with free-flow of selected wines, local beers and cocktails.

Christmas Day festive brunch at Up & Above is a real family occasion with an internatio­nal buffet, live jazz, carol singers and magic show, priced at Bt2,400++ and Bt3,400++ with free-flow of selected wines, local beers and cocktails.

There’s nowhere better to relax after a hectic Christmas Day than at Up & Above with a festive buffet dinner and the easy listening sounds from the live band. Santa Claus makes his final visit before heading home to Lapland. Christmas Day festive buffet dinner is priced at Bt1,800++ and Bt2,800++ with free-flow of selected wines, local beers and cocktails.

Children aged 4 - 12 years pay Bt950++ for the Christmas buffet at Up & Above restaurant on both 24 and 25 December 2015.

FESTIVE AFTERNOON TEA

The Okura Prestige Bangkok also presents a special festive afternoon tea throughout December. This classic and highly popular afternoon meal includes traditiona­l festive goodies such as Christmas stollen, home-made Okura festive macaroons and orange chocolate truffles as well as sandwiches, scones and cakes.

Festive afternoon tea, served daily from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at Up & Above Bar on the hotel’s 24th floor, is priced at Bt960++ inclusive of coffee or tea for 2 persons. Available 1 – 31 December 2015.

BOUNENKAI PARTIES

Traditiona­l year-end (Bounenkai) celebratio­ns begin at Yamazato on 11 December 2015 with a special set menu created by Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara.

Yamazato is the perfect location to celebrate Bounenkai with family, friends and business associates. The set dinner and welcome drink, priced at Bt2,000++, includes deep-fried chicken, steamed squid dumpling with ginger sauce and leek, three kinds of sashimi, and tempura shrimp with sillago and vegetables plus miso soup and delicious desserts.

Special set menu for Bounenkai is available from 11 – 27 December 2015.
