Biting argument

My father taught me as a boy that you can pet a dog while speaking affectionately and it may nuzzle up for more, but if the dog is eating while you try to pet it you may get bitten. Just so, if the present regime reacts harshly and inappropriately to certain questions or comments, it may be construed there is a reason for it.
