Cops seek Rayong pair for kidnap, beating

- JUMPHON NIKHOMRAK

Police are seeking warrants to arrest two people who allegedly assaulted and attempted to murder a businesswoman before dumping her in a reservoir in Rayong’s Pluak Daeng district on Wednesday.

Pluak Daeng police said investigators have asked the provincial court to issue warrants for Komson Raidee, 33, and Usa Koman, 23.

The Rayong residents allegedly kidnapped and attempted to kill Renoo Tankanchananurak, 56, a businesswoman and associate judge who manages the family-owned Burapha Sinsap Company. The company runs several affiliated firms for real estate, finance, pump stations, resorts and hotels in the province.

Ms Renoo found out Mr Komson, an employee of the company, allegedly falsified a title deed to a plot of company land worth over 200 million baht, which he planned to sell. Staff had lodged complaints that land deeds had gone missing, police said.

On Tuesday, Ms Renoo was accosted by Mr Komson and two others in the company car park, police said. They tied her up, forced her into a car and hit her with a hard object, knocking her out.

They drove to the reservoir, where they dumped her. She managed to free herself from the binds and swam to shore. She was rescued the following morning but had sustained serious injuries.

Police said Ms Usa, a secretary for Ms Renoo’s husband, colluded with Mr Komson. A search of Mr Komson’s home in Muang district turned up 10 vehicles parked there, but he was not present.
