Race mix a failure

-

One thing recent history has proved and current affairs are proving is that multiculturalism and free-trade areas are socially and economically destructive. They are the result of political dreams which have never been seriously addressed and thought through. Both the USA and Europe are clear examples of the failings of simplistic ideologies.

The result of the 20-year-old North American Free Trade Area (Nafta) is the loss of jobs in the USA which has a massive trade deficit with Mexico. US companies move to Mexico where the labour is cheaper and the goods produced are sold back to the US free of tariffs, causing a trade imbalance. Generally, different ethnic groups do not fully integrate but congregate in groups: Hispanics and African Americans tend to form their own separate communities. Muslims declare their allegiance to the political ideology of Islam rather than the American constitution, preventing social integration.

The European Union is in meltdown because of its open-door immigration and restrictive trade policies. The UK is the fifthlargest economy in the world and has a trade deficit of more than £80 billion with the other 27 European Union countries. It is being ordered by the EU to finance the massive uncontrolled (in fact uncontrollable) Muslim immigration from the Middle East and North Africa. While enjoying the freedom of national democracies, the migrants are fighting to establish their own ideology with its own Sharia law. They refuse to show allegiance to their host countries and demand accommodation and welfare payments.

At the same time, due to the euro, Greece is technically bankrupt while Germany is increasingly wealthy: The former spends, the latter produces. Economically they have nothing in common.

Across the continent of Europe, sovereign countries are re-establishing their national borders with walls and fences. Many are taking steps to exit the EU’s political and commercial control in favour of returning to self-governance.

It is clear that social and economic integration can only take place where all involved have some similarity socially, culturally and economically. Mexico and the USA are too diverse in every respect, as are the Middle East and Africa and the UK. This is not racist as suggested; it is about incompatibility.

The solution is controlled legal migration between sovereign states which negotiate their own trade policies.
