Underwater is a whole new world to many people. But for photographer Nat Sumanatemeya, it’s a part of his life. With over 20 years of experience, Nat has travelled to many oceans and collected photos of the world beneath. This is his first time gathering masterpieces in a photo book, Okeanos, which will be launched on Thursday at 6pm at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. The exhibition will be displayed until March 27. Fans of aquatic creatures should definitely not miss it.

Indie music fans will be gleeful again as two Australian bands will be playing live at RCA for their first Thai gig on Friday. Last Dinosaur, an indie rock band, will share the stage with Panama, an electronic pop band. Their upbeat and catchy tunes will easily engross audiences, even those who are not familiar with these two bands. Early bird tickets are 1,300 baht or 1,500 baht on the door.

University education isn’t sometimes as safe as it supposed to be, especially for female students, and many times cases like rape and sexual abuse are swept under the carpet. Now silence is no longer an option for it is time for the victims to start shouting against injustice. The documentary The Hunting Ground follows real life stories of students in the US. The premiere will be at SF World Cinema at CentralWorld today at 1pm followed by a talk by students and activists on the safety of university life in Thailand at 3pm. If you miss this special round, the film will also be screened at SF World Cinema, SFX The Crystal Ekamai Ramindra and SFX Maya in Chiang Mai, from Thursday.

Inequality is a big social issue that needs to be tackled. It is often discussed in serious tones but at Jam opening today, American street photographer Adam Birkan captures moments of inequality in ordinary life which are often missed, displaying pictures taken in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore in All That Glitters. Photos are shot in minimalist style with a bright colour tone, yet the sense of melancholy is still visually haunting.

If the delicacy of local crafts can mesmerise you, check out the International Innovative Craft Fair at Bitec from Thursday to March 13. The fair’s highlights feature trade on selected crafts with cool designs from Thailand and Asean countries, open-for-public workshops on making arts and crafts and activities, and seminars to take the craft industry to another level.
