YOLK ‘BEAT-UP’, BACK OFFSIDE, PIMMARA’S GOODWILL

Assault claims ‘exaggerated’

Young actor Suparerk “Yolk” Meepian denies beating up his girlfriend, saying her bruises result from the normal pushing and shoving that goes on between jealous lovers.

Yolk, 19, came forward last week after his former girlfriend, Pakkard Pritaporn, who is eight years his senior, claimed he beat her up, spent 400,000 baht of her money while they were together, and took sex clips which he threatened to release if she left him.

She posted a warning about Yolk on her social media account, along with pictures which show bruising on her arms and upper chest.

The young actor, who appeared in the Lovesick TV series, admits taking clips of Pakkard but insists he deleted them when they broke up three weeks ago. They were together about a year.

“We started arguing only towards the end, and it didn’t end in violence every time. We are both jealous types,” he told the media last week.

“I didn’t assault her. We argued as lovers usually do, pushing and shoving. On top of that I have long nails. Sometimes after pushing her my nails would leave scratches.

“However, I didn’t leave bruises, and deny kicking her. I have seen the pictures ... those are just scratch marks on her chest,” he said.

He said Pakkard gave him money out of love. “Mostly it took the form of items she bought rather than cash,” he said.

Pakkard later went before the cameras to counter his claims, insisting he was violent, and recounted three episodes for which she says she has witnesses. She says he hit her in a cinema, a restaurant and at a friend’s place.

“It wasn’t mere scratches, but yanking and pulling. He left me with a bruised eye and arms. He is a sadist who loves foul language and swore constantly,” she said.

Pakkard said Yolk would take clips of her undressing and in the shower. She had contacted his family asking him to delete them, and was prepared to lay a police complaint if they surfaced.

“My parents and friends thought I was stupid to get together with someone so young, but thought I could change him, so was prepared to wear’s society’s judgement.”

She hoped her experience would serve as a warning to others.

Footballer dropped by Pat

Footballer Atit “Back” Daosawang has fallen out of favour with actress Napapa “Pat” Thantrakul, 29, amid claims by internet critics that he treats women shabbily.

Back, who plays for Muang Thong United, has taken a drubbing in the media over the past week after internet sleuths started digging into his past. Earlier, he declared he was keen to get to know Pat, and the actress confirmed they had been chatting.

Pat is flavour of the month romantically after an ill-fated union with a young man from the city slums boosted her profile. Another admirer is singer and actor Pakin “Tono” Kumvilaisak, with whom Pat appeared at an industry function for the first time last week.

News of Back’s interest in the actress emerged late last month when he told the media he had sent Pat a large bunch of roses on Valentine’s Day.

After Back declared his interest, young women who claim to have known the footballer came forward with allegations that he likes borrowing from his girlfriends without paying the money back. He is also keen on two-timing, they said.

At first Back took the criticism well, and even appeared to suggest the claims might be true. “The past is the past. We can’t turn back time. I am sure none of us are perfect, and have all made mistakes,” he wrote on social media.

Later, he added: “Say whatever you like. But sorry, but to be strong is enough.” And in another reference to his critics: “Don’t stop. I love it! Thanks ... I am strong.”

By the end of the week, however, members of his fan club were tiring of the exposure, and the woman who first went public with claims of his philandering and hunger for cash came under attack.

Writing on social media, she said one of his fans had threatened to beat her up.

“If you don’t stop, you will meet us for sure ... we warned you nicely but you don’t listen. Back wants you to stop talking. You should regard this as a gentle warning. Let him carry on practising ball,” he wrote.

Another fan wrote: “If tomorrow you still haven’t stopped, don’t complain if we were brutal.”

Asked to comment, Pat said the fuss started when Back asked if he could tag her on social media.

“He shouldn’t turn it into a story. He’s not the real thing, as I don’t want a boyfriend just yet,” she said.

“I am not interested in stories about what Back is like with women, as we haven’t reached the point where I need to know,” she said.

Singer to keep helping soldiers

Singer Pimmara “Namwan” Charoenpukdi says her family will carry on sending goods to foot soldiers in the far South, even though their superiors appear keener on helping themselves than sharing them out.

Her mother, Ploy Charoenpura, early this year sent a batch of 1,700 cakes of herbal soap by mail to 14 army bases down south, expecting ordinary rank and file troops would get to use them. Media reports said she made the soap herself.

She checked with the camps to see if they had received the gifts yet. She failed to hear anything back.

Late last month she found out why, when a soldier sent her a postcard saying his superiors were dividing up the soap and sending it home rather than handing it out to the troops.

Ploy said she normally sends goods to the troops via the War Veteran’s Hospital. She has decided to go back to sending it this way, and yesterday was preparing to send a batch of liquid soap to the troops via the hospital again.
