Sustainable food symposium at Srinakharinwirot
The “Mindful Markets Asia Forum” is being organised with the aim to shape the sustainable food systems of the future, at Srinakharinwirot University, Sukhumvit 23, from today to Thursday from 9am-4.30pm.
Held by Suan Nguen Mee Ma social enterprise in collaboration with many related organisations, the third edition of the forum will focus on the theme “Organics For System Change” — an enormous challenge for social enterprises on food determined to create mindful markets, mindful consumers, mindful farmers and mindful social entrepreneurs.
The three-day event is packed with panel discussions, presentations and workshops by representatives from the Keystone Foundation (India), MOA (Japan), Grain (Indonesia), Xaobaan Products (Laos), Natural Agriculture Products (Cambodia), Happy Green Cooperative (Bhutan) as well as alliances from Thailand including Change Fusion, Baan Dontanod, Thawsi School, Thai Foundation for Consumers, Lemon Farm and Abhaibhubejhr.
The programme includes a keynote address on organics for system change today at 9.30am and panel discussions on social enterprise and system change at 10.15am and on consumer movement at 1.30pm.
Social enterprise and policy support will be the topic for a panel discussion tomorrow morning, followed by a group workshop in the afternoon. The last day will start with an academic dialogue by lecturers from Srinakharinwirot University, followed by a panel discussion on the relationship of producers-social enterprise-consumers.
There is also a mini-green market offering organic produce and products from 20 stalls on all three days from 9am-4pm.
