WATER LIBRARY BRASSERIE UNVEILS ITS BRAND-NEW SET MENU

- STORY JARUPAT BURANASTIDPORN

As the end of the year approaches, we’re constantly on the lookout for the perfect dining venue for eating out with friends and colleagues to celebrate making it through another year without getting fired. Hooray!

Central location, good food, great drinks and a reasonable price tag are usually what’s on the checklist, and fortunately, we’ve found such a place that ticks all the boxes, and it’s sitting right under our noses at Central Embassy. Water Library Brasserie is decked out in all of the 1920’s glory; Gatsby-esque, dimmed lighting and dark hues sets the tone for the restaurant, giving it a cool, masculine look with some modern detailing to keep things on a casual note.

Their new set-menu (B990++) — as we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing firsthand — is fantastic, with lots of options to suit all taste buds. Start off the meal with a humble bowl of Squid salad, comprised of fresh salad leaves and lightly grilled squid tossed in oriental dressing with chilli. It’s definitely a dish that’ll kick start your palate.

For the main course, our favourite is the Lobster pasta made with capellini, chorizo, chilli and broccoli. Lots of bold flavours (especially the garlic) working well together and the pasta is al dente, giving the dish a wonderful bite. For those who prefer to lay off the carbs, go for the Wild seabass or the Roasted chicken breast, both of which the restaurant has shown off the fine quality of ingredients in its best light while keeping it bright and light with fresh seasonal vegetables.

Although there’s only one option for dessert, we’re not going to complain because we can’t think of a better way to round off the meal than with a Chocolate panna cotta. Forget hard, springy panna cotta and say hello to a creamy, chocolate mousse-like one instead. And to make things even more indulgent, it’s topped off with homemade caramel popcorn, banana cream and cocoa biscuit.

Oh and did we mention the good news? This set menu isn’t just for lunch. It’s available all day, so head on over whenever you want and tuck right in!

Water Library Brasserie is open daily from 11:30am-10pm and is located on the fifth floor of Central Embassy. For more information, visit fb.com/waterlibrarybrasserie or call 061-825-2532.
