Verita Healthcare Group, a leader in integrative healthcare, has teamed up with the owner of Pace Development Plc to open its first Asian healthcare centre in Bangkok.

The centre, Verita Health MahaNakhon, is located at MahaNakhon Cube, a lifestyle and retail section of the MahaNakhon skyscraper on Narathiwat Ratchanakharin Road.

Julian Andriesz, founder and chief executive of Verita Healthcare Group, said it joined hands with Sorapoj Techakraisri, chief executive of Pace Development, developer of MahaNakhon, which had a soft launch a few months ago and will officially open in February.

“The company is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for personalised, regenerative healthcare and preventative medicine from sophisticated consumers in Thailand and the region,” Mr Andriesz said. “We will introduce a variety of leading-edge therapies and services from advanced biological age screening to genetic profiling.”

The business is a joint venture between the two men with an initial investment of 150 million baht.

“We will work with some of the world’s leading medical practitioners and scientists to provide tailored programmes for each client,” Mr Andriesz said. “This is an exciting time to be alive with next-generation medicines changing the paradigms for growing old.”

He said the company chose Thailand as a medical hub because of its popularity in medical tourism, along with good nutritional ingredients, excellent service standards and government promotion of the industry.

The industry predicts over the next five to 10 years, nursing homes and anti-ageing retreats will become more popular in Thailand, said Mr Andriesz.

Verita Healthcare expects 65-70% of its customers to be locals and average annual revenue of 300-500 million baht during the next three years.

The company is planning to allot 700 million to 1 billion baht for expansion in Thailand over three years. Of the total, some 500 million will be spent on opening a second branch in Hua Hin focusing on anti-ageing and projected to be five times larger than the first branch.

The remaining 250-500 million baht will be spent on developing a cancer centre and on research and development.

Over the last eight years, Verita Healthcare added anti-ageing centres in Australia, Malaysia and Turkey and has cancer centres in Germany, Bangkok and Australia.
