1955

Simyu Sae-Chin, Yupin’s father, discovered a quality kaolin site in Ban Pang Kha in Chae Hom district. He moved his family from Chiang Mai to Lampang.

19561964

Simyu co-founded Ruam Samakkhi factory to produce chickenpat­terned ceramic bowls in Ban Pa Kham, about 1km away from the present factory of Dhanabadee­skul.

1965

Simyu opened his own ceramic factory called Dhanabadee­skul on rental land at Wat Chongkham in Muang District and built a clay oven called tao mangkon, which is now registered as a national heritage site. The factory also houses the ceramic museum.

1990

Panasin Dhanabadee­sakul founded Dhanabadee Art Ceramic Company to produce ceramic arts and design products for export. The products have been exported to about 70 countries.

1997

Panasin wanted to revive the chicken-patterned bowl with Yupin being the only artist who knew the pattern. They wanted to produce original chicken-patterned bowls similar to how her father and friends made the bowls available in Lampang.

2003

Dhanabadee Decor Ceramic Company was founded to produce lifestyle and home decorative ceramic products.

20062016

The two companies designed products that won many awards including the Prime Minister’s Export Awards, Design Excellence Awards and Best Ceramic Entreprene­ur and Newest Innovation.

2013

Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum was founded to tell the story of ceramics in Lampang from the beginning to the modern ceramic arts.

Present

The family produces many choices of ceramic ware with a rooster design including salt-and-pepper containers, noodle and soup bowls, dishes and coffee mugs. The products are available online as well as through shops nationwide.
