1 Before the main event of Art Auction For Refugees on March 11 at Moca (Museum of Contempora­ry Art), which will raise funds as part of UNHCR’s global “Nobody Left Outside Campaign” to support 2 million refugees in 12 countries, pop by to check out the art pieces being showcased at the Lifestyle Hall, Siam Paragon’s 2nd floor, from Feb 15–19. The exhibition opens on Feb 15 at 4pm with speeches and a 40-minute dhamma talk by the Venerable Phra Maha Vudhijaya Vajiramedh­i, who is helping organise the event and a tour of the art exhibition.

2 On Feb 15, Jam Cafe BKK’s weekly Cine Club features

Sans Soleil. Made by Frenchman Chris Marker, the documentar­y and essay film depicts the erosion of humanity that comes with an increasing­ly industrial­ised world. The film is shot in Japan and Africa, and is portrayed as “two extreme poles of survival”. It was named the “3rd best documentar­y of all time” by a poll published in British film magazine Sight & Sound in 2014.

3 Give your Valentine the decadent treat they deserve at the W Bangkok hotel, which will be featuring a variety of special Valentine-themed delicacies, from lavish foie gras and wagyu beef dinners to fancy cocktails. The special offers are available only on St Valentine’s Day, Feb 14, beginning at 6pm with multiple-course dinners from 3,500 baht. Cocktails start at 300 baht.

4 Renowned French luxury fashion brand Hermès kicks off 2017 in style with their Hermèsisti­ble pop-up store at the Hall of Fame on Siam Paragon’s M floor. Featuring jewellery items and accessorie­s named with made up, hard-to-say words meant to convey the brand’s playfulnes­s, the store features items such as “Timidand” bracelets (defined by the brand as “hiding shyness behind expressive hands”). The store will be open till Feb 15.

5 It wouldn’t be St Valentine’s Day without some sweet, sweet chocolate, so be sure to look out for Godiva’s limited-edition Buffet de Gâteaux chocolate collection, a luxurious selection of various chocolateb­ased treats inspired by recipes around the world. Inspired by the glamorous tradition of high-tea, the collection includes Strawberry Shortcake, Sachertort­e, Lemon Cheesecake, Paris Brest, Crème Brulee and Matcha Chiffon Cake, to name a few, with each piece containing either a “sumptuous ganache or a classic praline” encased in the finest Belgian chocolate. Prices start at 690 baht and can be bought at Godiva stores at Siam Paragon and CentralWor­ld.
