Red Cross bazaar highlights international bonds
The Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar will return with special international products from 50 countries, at the Royal Paragon Hall of Siam Paragon, Rama I Road, on Feb 25-26 from 10am-8pm.
Held under the theme “50 Years Of The Wonder Of Sharing And Unity From 50 Embassies In Thailand” by the Thai Red Cross Society, the 50th edition of the annual bazaar will present selections of quality products imported exclusively for this event.
They include premium salmon from Norway, almond thins from Belgium, which is served as a snack for guests of the Belgian royal family; Claus Porto soap from Portugal, which is recommended by leading magazines for its distinguished packages and fragrances; a limited number of praying bells from Nepal; the latest designs of IITTala tableware from Finland; and Catholic gifts and products from the Vatican.
For the first time, the Qatar embassy will offer henna hand painting in the traditional Arabian style by a specialist who will be flown in from Qatar while Armenia, which is among the new countries joining this year’s event, will offer premium wines. There will also be cultural shows and performances from India, Panama, China and Indonesia.
To express their deepest gratitude toward the late King Bhumibol, many embassies are joining hands to organise a special exhibition featuring distinctive pictures of the fond memories and deep-rooted relationship between the late monarch and their embassies.
Raffle tickets will be available at 50 baht with prizes including air tickets from Singapore Airlines, Thai Lion Air and Cebu Pacific; a necklace with a diamond pendant; a gold necklace; a gold ring; and vouchers from leading hotels and restaurants.
Entry fee is 50 baht. Proceeds from the fair will benefit many charitable projects of the Thai Red Cross Society.
