Truckloads of good food outside CentralWorld
Foodies are invited to indulge in a variety of dishes during the World Food Expo 2017, which kicks off today and runs until April 9 in front of CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Road, from 10am-10pm.
Held for the first time by the Ministry of Industry’s National Food Industry, the 18-day event will feature street food, food trucks, ancient Thai food and local Thai food by popular restaurants, as well as innovative processed food from 200 leading manufacturers.
The event is divided into four major zones. The “Street Food And Food Truck” zone will present the modernisation of Thai street-food restaurants with attractive shop decorations and stylish, eye-catching packages from 48 street-food restaurants and 24 food trucks.
The “Food Industry” zone will be comprised of 109 booths exhibiting innovations and technology relating to the quality of food production and the application of food-production innovations in several types of materials to maximise value in food export.
This zone will also see cooking demonstrations of Thai-fusion food while chefs from well-known restaurants will show off their popular Thai dishes. The highlight, however, is “The Lost Recipe” exhibition, where talented chefs will demonstrate how to cook ancient Thai recipes that are difficult to find in typical restaurants, royal Thai cuisine and authentic local Thai food.
The “Food Cluster Pavilion Of Thai Leader Cluster” zone will f eature innovations and the latest products from leading manufacturers in the food-and-beverage industry, including Thai Beverage, Singha Corporation and Betagro Group.
Inspired by the romantic resort town of Santorini, the “Santorini” zone will be packed with fun activities and music performances on a big stage.
