LEARNING PROGRAMME:
Andrew Davies, head, and Usa Somboon, headmistress of the International School Bangkok (ISB) recently welcomed Khun Ploypailin Jensen, who presided over ISB’s new intensive learning needs programme addressing the specific needs of children with varying degrees of learning disabilities. Payom Chinnawong, secretary-general of the Office of Private Education Commission, Ministry of Education, also attended the event.

GALA CONCERT:
Vapee Bhirombhakdi, vice-chairman of Boon Rawd Brewery, recently welcomed Austrian Ambassador Enno Drofenik and his wife Juri Sekiguchi-Drofenik, at the gala concert titled ‘5 Decades of the Royal Compositions in the City of Vienna’ staged at the Thailand Cultural Centre. The concert featured music composed by HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which was performed by The Niederösterreichisches Tonkünstler Orchestra for the Thai monarch, on Oct 3, 1964, at the Great Hall of the Musikverien in Vienna, Austria. ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION:
Chokdee Wisansing, fourth left, chief operating officer of the newspaper business of the Post Publishing, recently presented a flower basket to Kalin Sarasin, fourth right, chairman of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Yuthasak Supasorn, third right, TAT governor, on the 57th anniversary of TAT, at its headquarters on New Phetchaburi Road.
MISS UNIVERSE:
Sagar Naker, general manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, recently welcomed Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova, as well as organisers of ‘Mrs Universe Thailand 2017’ led by Parinya Wongcherdkwan, director, and Porntip Wongcherdkwan, copyright holder, who announced the annual beauty pageant. TROPHY WINNERS:
Deputy Prime Minister Gen Tanasak Patimapagorn, centre, recently presented a trophy and medals to winners of the ‘Ayutthaya Kizuna Ekiden 2017’ that celebrated the 130th anniversary of Thailand-Japan diplomatic relations. Four relay runners from Team Beyond — Sattawat Sang-in, left, Pattarapon Jampateep, second left, Supanut Sawasdiwej, second right, and Toyotaka Lida, right — won the competition that took place at Ayutthaya Historical Park.
