Clear out that clutter
Savvy shoppers and bargain hunters can enjoy a shopping spree at the “Clutter Sale For Charity” at the Grand Ballroom of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, Ratcha damri Road, on Saturday from 10am-5pm.
Organised by the NewsMakers, a close-knit group of creative-thinking individuals in print media, public relations and architecture, the 11th edition of the much-awaited event will feature more than 70 booths selling second-hand items in mint condition, donated and/ or sold by VIPs, celebrities and the expat community.
Dubbed as “flea market extraordinaire”, items on sale include international designer goods, evening wear and fashion accessories, antiques and vintage items, gadgets, gizmos, sports paraphernalia, home decor, small appliances, novelty items and gently-used treasures, as well as slightly-used catwalk outfits from prominent fashion houses and company overruns.
The “Charity Corner” will see items priced as low as 20 baht, while the “Designers’ Corner” presents donated designer items — bags, shoes, clothing and accessories — donated, in the name of cancer research, by free-spending jet-setters and socialites.
Topping this year’s lucky draw is an economy class ticket for two to London, courtesy of British Airways. Other prizes include hotel accommodations, meal vouchers, as well as spa, food and beverage vouchers, and household items.
Proceeds will be donated to Chulalongkorn Hospital’s Genetic Cancer Research Centre under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross.
