Letter to ‘Boss’ parents

-

I would like to express my abhorrence and deep disrespect that I have for both of you in raising a son who is irresponsible, spoiled beyond the pale, and a horrible role model for the youth of Thailand. And allow me to say that your aiding and abetting him in avoiding justice has not only incurred my wrath, but also the wrath of countless millions of others who live by the law and who righteously expect that justice be blind and treat everyone fairly.

We the people found it unjust that your high-priced lawyers haggled the blood price of a dead policeman from 8 million baht to 3 million baht, which was just 10% of what you dropped for Boss’s 30-million-baht car. Are you really that stingy, or did your lawyers get a bonus for knocking the price down? We find it deplorable that your lawyers have delayed, and are still delaying, Boss’s appearance at his indictment.

While we all know that he’s living the rich boy life, overseas, driving around the UK in his new Porsche with personalised plates. And we all know that your lawyers have filed several petitions for justice, calling for additional investigation, which is nothing more than a clever ploy to delay the course of justice.

But what is crystal clear to me, Mr and Mrs Yoovidhya, is that you never taught your son the meaning of atonement. Or responsibility. And in my eyes he will always be a cowardly boy-child.

So, before your manicured hand reaches out for your expensive iPhone to call your lawyer to initiate a defamation suit against me, please pause for a minute to consider this; I have only expressed my opinion in a legal manner under the law.

I said what I believed, and it is only my opinion.

Okay, now you can go about your business of making what I believe to be an unhealthy foul-tasting syrupy concoction that too many long-distance drivers consume and might well contribute to Thailand’s deadly road toll.

Have a lousy day. JOHNNY WATERS
