HIGH-TECH LUSTRE

- NOKO

Astandout asymmetrical dial makes Dia Master Grande Seconde one of Rado’s dressy timepieces. Since its debut in 2015, redesigns add more options to the oversized watch, recognisable from its stacked sub-dials, one for hours and minutes and the other for seconds.

Last year, the Swiss brand released two models featuring a Clou de Paris pattern on a silver dial, as well as a chocolate-themed version with a deep brown dial and matching strap.

Continuing the series in 2017, a revised colour scheme has given eye-catching blue and grey-brown variations, whose subdials are framed by a sunray pattern while the larger subdial has been tweaked with Roman numerals.

Enhancing readability, silver-coloured numerals and minutes track stand out on the blue model whereas they are in printed in white on the grey-brown watch.

The case is again crafted from plasma high-tech ceramic, which gives the look of a classic metal wristwatch while its lighter-than-steel and hypoallergenic property makes it more comfortable to wear the 43mm timepiece. In addition, its durability is due to being five times harder than steel and scratch-resistant.

Rado’s signature material is created by firing finished white ceramic components in a plasma oven, where gases activated at 20,000°C trigger a reaction that gives the high-tech ceramic its metallic lustre.

The monobloc construction is pressed on a titanium caseback with an excentered sapphire crystal that reveals the automatic movement providing a 42-hours power reserve.

Available at watch retailers and leading department stores, DiaMaster Grande Seconde is priced at 101,700 baht.
