Credibility destroyed

The Prayut Chan-o-cha government — in “quietly” giving the green light early this month for the purchase of a 13.5-billionbaht submarine from China — risks having its credibility destroyed irretrievably.

In this age, nothing is too grand or too sensitive to discuss when it comes to national budget spending. In other words, trans- parency is the norm now globally. Therefore, the government should be reminded that this money belongs to all Thai taxpayers. Hence, the government should come clean on this. There is no way around it.
