G-Able in big push for digital disruption
G-Able Group, an IT solutions service provider, is tapping into the digital transformation solutions market to capitalise on growing demand for digital technologies.
Big data, cloud-based and digital marketing technologies are crucial in the journey to digital transformation, said Suthep Oonmettachit, president of G-Able Group, an affiliate of systems integration services firm CDG.
Thailand’s spending on enterprise IT infrastructure is expected to reach 500 billion baht by 2020, thanks to the effects of digital transformation.
Mr Suthep said organisations need to define innovative business models and technologies to respond to digital disruption and compete in the digital age, rather than just use technology to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
G-Able is transforming itself from a technology reseller to a digital business solutions service provider to cash in on this growing trend.
Under its five-year plan, G-Able will focus on high-demand technologies with enhanced performance capabilities, ranging from cloud-based applications, industry-based solutions, blockchain, artificial intelligence and chatbot.
Mr Suthep also said the company plans to acquire a local tech startup that has developed a range of technology solutions focused on enterprise customers. The acquisition will be made through a joint venture or partnership model.
Cloud-based apps and infrastructure, big data analytics and digital marketing technology tools are defined as the top three strategic technology trends, he said.
Cloud computing promises to reduce upfront IT investment and enhance functional scalability for businesses. Big data analytics enables users to analyse growing volumes of structured transaction data plus other forms of data to help organisations make informed business decisions.
Digital marketing tools, which are shaping the future of marketing, allow advertisers to better understand customer interactions across ad formats and devices.
Mr Suthep said G-Able this year will recruit new staff with strong digital skills in order to serve enterprise customers. Its major customers are in the financial, telecom, education and energy sectors, as well as the government.
Retail, healthcare, logistics and media sectors also show high growth potential, he said.
G-Able forecasts digital business solutions will account for half of its total revenue by 2020, up from an anticipated 25% this year.
“We expect our revenue to grow by 15% in 2017, compared with 10% growth in 2016, helped by high spending on digital transformation technologies,” said Mr Suthep.
