FOND FAREWELL
Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, minister of tourism and sports, and Nijaporn Charanachitta, chairwoman of the board of directors, OHTL — the operator of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok — presided over a reception to bid farewell to general manager Amanda Hyndman, at the Authors’ Lounge. Her achievements included the hotel’s 140th anniversary celebrations, last year’s US$18 million (620 million baht) restoration and CSR activities. After early retirement, Hyndman will reside in Scotland whereas her successor, Greg Liddell, who previously managed Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, will oversee operations of the legendary riverside hotel.
