What word describes the comedy scene in Bangkok?

Exploding! Three years ago the scene was in its infancy and we put the diapers on this infant! As the first and only dedicated English Language venue, our focus was in creating a club with regular shows, so that people knew every Friday there was live comedy. Since then, the scene has grown and CCB has become the largest comedy promoter in Thailand, having presented Jimmy Carr, Eddie Izzard, Tom Rhodes, Gina Yashere and Ari Shaffir, just to name a few!

What does CCB provide for comedy lovers in Bangkok?

We offer comedy and a great night out! CCB is the premier venue for live stand-up comedy and the only venue for improvised comedy in Thailand. We have workshops to develop local talent and give local comedians a chance to perform in front of Thailand’s largest comedy audiences. Overall we bring Bangkok the best in local and international comedy, from comedy superstars to innovative shows such as our popular Indian comedian nights, kids comedy shows and Tinder Hell improv show!

Describe the atmosphere during a show?

The atmosphere at the club is electric. People enter the room and see the stage, the proscenium arch, red curtains, our logo, posters with famous comedians on the wall and they know they’ve arrived at an international standard comedy club like you’d find in New York or London (attested to by the international comics themselves). There is a very positive and supportive feeling in the room. People are there to have a good time, hang out with friends, meet new people and of course watch some amazing comedy!

What can future audiences look forward to at CCB?

We are continuing to bring in the best international comedians from all over the world, more innovative shows and simply more laughs. In the next year or so you are going to see some big names, and some amazing talent come through Bangkok. We can’t tell you who, but when you find out, you’ll be laughing!
