Sala Thai gears up for world expo
Index Creative Village Plc, the country’s largest event organiser, will showcase the Thailand Pavilion at Astana Expo 2017 in Kazakhstan from June 10 to Sept 10, aiming to bolster the reputation of Thai culture among international tourists.
Founder and group chief executive Kriengkrai Kanjanapokin said the company is in charge of designing, building and promoting the Thailand Pavilion (Sala Thai) at the world’s largest international exhibition. There are 110 pavilions planned for the expo.
“The preparations for Sala Thai are now 100% complete and we are the first country to open our pavilion to welcome Kazakhs and tourists from all over the world,” he said.
Under the “Be Amazed and WOW at Thailand Pavilion” theme, it will accommodate Kazakhs values and tastes while building on the Thai reputation on the international stage throughout the expo’s three-month duration, said Mr Kriengkrai.
He said Index focused on designs that mostly fit the expo’s host as Kazakhs have a passion for music, joyfulness and entertainment. Index designed the pavilion’s structure and content in a way that can both educate and entertain visitors.
“As the leading authority on world expositions in Thailand, we are confident we can promote Thailand’s reputation,” Mr Kriengkrai said.
Visitors will be impressed with its designs and content on bio-energy development under the “Bio-energy for All” concept, he said.
The Sala Thai has three rooms.
In the first room, visitors will get to know various aspects of Thailand such as its culture through live Thai boxing displays and Phi Ta Khon festival shows with multimedia displays.
The second room will be filled with energy content explained by Index’s mascot
named Palang using a display of 4D graphics and animatronics.
The third room will explain about nine types of pure energy and how animal dung can be converted into a usable energy source.
