ANATOMY OF A MURDER

Chronology according to the accounts of police and Wasin Namprom, one of the suspects and the group’s driver:

Suspect Preeyanuch "Preaw" Nonwangcha­i and victim Warisara Klinjui were colleagues. They had many conflicts. Ms Preeyanuch believed Warisara provided informatio­n to police resulting in the arrest of her husband in a drug case.

Ms Preeyanuch and the other suspects, including Kawita "Earn" Ratchada and Apiwan "Jae" Sattayabun­dit, gather at a restaurant and plan to abduct the victim. Ms Kawita makes a phone call to Warisara telling her a customer wants to see her.

Early morning on May 23, the group, in a rented Honda CR-V driven by Mr Wasin, pick Warisara up near her apartment in downtown Khon Kaen. Ms Preeyanuch allegedly strangles Warisara to death.

The group drive around in the car and stop at shops to buy equipment to cover up the crime.

The group check in at a resort in ambon Phra Lub, Muang district of Khon Kaen.

The suspects take the victim’s body nto the bathroom. Ms Preeyanuch allegedly dismembers Warisara and puts the parts in two plastic barrels.

Ms Preeyanuch reportedly tells Mr Wasin to put the barrels in the car.

The group leave the resort and bury the barrels in Khao Suan Kwang district.

Jidarat "Aom" Promkhun sells the victim’s belongings and hides in Ubon Ratchathan­i.

On May 25, the body is found. On May 30, Wasin is arrested in Vientiane, Ms Jidarat is nabbed in Ubon Ratchathan­i. Ms Preeyanuch, Ms Kawita and Ms Apiwan have reportedly fled to Myanmar.
