Nong Hak (Dearest Sister)

This Lao film tells a story of a blind woman who’s married to a Westerner and living in Vientiane, and her young caretaker arriving from the countryside. The blind woman can see ghosts, who seem to come to tell her the winning lottery numbers. This leads to betrayal, class critique and horrifying twists. Directed by Mattie Do.
