-

In remembrance of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Canon Marketing (Thailand) has launched “The 2nd CanonLife Redefine: The Thai Alphabetical Indexes” online photo contest inviting photographers to submit work depicting the late king’s royal projects while representing any of the 44 letters of the Thai alphabet.

Rattikorn Nampila, assistant director of corporate communications, said the CanonLife Redefine project this year aims to remember the generosity of King Bhumibol who worked tirelessly for the benefits and happiness of Thai people, manifested in his more than 4,000 development projects in every region of Thailand.

“The 2nd CanonLife Redefine: The Thai Alphabetical Indexes” online photo competition encourages members of the public to submit photographs that tell a story about any of the royal projects or related products and innovations.

The 44 best pictures will be selected to make the alphabetical indexes according to the 44 letters of the Thai alphabet as well as producing learning materials and e-books for schools, so that children will understand and remember the significance of these projects.

Criteria for the selection of best photographs includes accurate presentation, composition, creativity and technique. First prize is a Canon EOS 77D camera and EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens, red backpack and 10,000 baht. Two entrants will receive the second prize of an EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens, red backpack and 5,000 baht.

The winners of each alphabetical category will get a grey backpack worth 6,900 baht (44 prizes). There are three prizes for contestants who submit pictures for all 44 letters of the alphabet: a classic camera bag worth 1,200 baht.

Submitted photographs must have a title, description and information of where they were shot. Photos shot on either digital cameras or film cameras are accepted, but they must be shot within six months before the end of the submission period.

The image file must be high-resolution with a size of up to 5MB. Contestants must keep the RAW file of the photographs for later verification. Submitted images must be clear of watermarks, credits, fonts, graphics and border colours and must retain all EXIF data.

Prizes include money and Canon products worth more than 400,000 baht in total.

Entries are accepted via www.canon.co.th/life until Aug 16.
