THE JEWELS OF THAILAND
Gems and jewellery associations from across Asean and beyond will present their best selection of precious products during the “Thailand Gems & Jewellery Fair 2017” at Impact Challenger 2, Muang Thong Thani, from tomorrow to Sunday, 10am-6pm.
This is the country’s first-ever mid-year international gems and jewellery fair organised by the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association with the aim to make Thailand a world hub for gems and jewellery manufacturing and trading.
Held under the theme “Treasure Road To The World”, the fair will feature over 1,000 booths from domestic and international companies that will unveil the latest collections and the latest innovation and cutting-edge technology for gems and jewellery manufacturers.
Industry and association representatives from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia, Italy, India, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Sri Lanka will participate in business discussions and trading activities.
Besides a special zone presenting Bangkok’s four jewellery districts — gold, silver, diamond and gemstones — the fair will feature the best of Thailand’s gems and jewellery, from rare to high-quality coloured stones and exquisite crafted gold and silver jewellery in various styles.
There will also be talks and seminars opening to interested members of the public, free of charge. The highlight will be a talk on “Mastering The Art Of Thai Jewelry Crafting … Designing The Opportunity In Global Markets” conducted by multi-awarding winning jewellery designer Alessio Boschi on Friday, from 10.30am to noon.
Set for Saturday from 10.30am to noon will be a seminar on “Quality Standards Of Rubies And Sapphires” held by the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand. Then Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin will present a talk on “Trends In Thai Jewelry Designs In The Creative Industry Towards Thailand 4.0” and a special fashion show by university students, from 1.30-4pm.
