Super Power set world record

- TOR CHITTINAND

Super Power’s miserable campaign continued last night when they were humiliated 9-2 by Pattaya United for their 20th consecutive Thai League 1 defeat.

It is believed to be the new world record for most successive league defeats.

Wellington Priori and Milos Stojanovic each scored two goals for hosts Pattaya as the Dolphins raced to a 5-0 lead at half-time.

Ramses Bustos and Chokelarp Nilsang scored consolation goals for Super Power.

After 22 matches, Super Power have only one point from their scoreless home draw with Bangkok Glass in the second game of the season.

The Samut Prakan-based club have lost 21 games in all. They have scored just 17 goals and conceded 80.

Buriram United remain leaders after a hard-fought 1-0 home win against Port.

In-form Brazilian forward Jakson ‘Jaja’ Coelho scored the winner for the Thunder Castle after 27 minutes.

Former Thailand boss Kiatisak Senamuang has earned just one win in four games in charge of Port.

Buriram were seven points ahead of defending champions SCG Muang Thong United who were at Nakhon Ratchasima later last night.

Bitter rivals Muang Thong and Buriram will meet at SCG Stadium on Sunday.

In yesterday’s other matches, Thai Honda drew 4-4 with fellow newcomers Ubon UMT and Chonburi defeated Si Sa Ket 1-0.
